Whose Garden Is It?Whose Garden Is It? The question, "Whose garden is it?" launches this rhyming romp, which touches on the intricate relationships between animals and plants, sun, soil, and water. In this program we’ll sing “Mother Nature Delivers”, a charming song about the goodness of the earth and all her creatures. Nights of the PufflingsNights of the Pufflings This beautifully photographed book teaches natural history about puffins, exposes children to an unfamiliar culture, and conveys the sense that children can make a difference in our world. A tiny island off the coast of Iceland provides the setting for this enjoyable tale. We’ll learn about puffins, the “clowns of the sea” and listen to the story. We’ll add wings to our bodies and sing, “If I Had Wings” Finally, we’ll create an ocean of puffins using sand, chalk and stencils. |back to book list|

Good Brown EarthAnd The Good Brown Earth Throughout the seasons, Gram and little Joe work side-by-side on their gardens, each in their own way, but with cheerfulness, thought, and humor. We’ll create our own rhythmic celebration of growing things with help from Dave Mallett’s delightful tune, “Inch by Inch”. We’ll become tiny seeds and let “the good brown earth do what the good brown earth does best.” We’ll end with an with an art adventure with seeds and watercolor paint. |back to book list|

Desert VoicesDesert Voices “You don’t need ears to listen. . . If your mind is open too!” There’s plenty to sing about as the creatures of the desert introduce children to their lives, homes, and their places in the desert world. We’ll learn what it’s like to be a jackrabbit, a tortoise or a buzzard and we’ll dance to the poetry of the desert. Hawk, I'm Your BrotherHawk, I'm Your Brother Rudy Soto has always dreamed of being able to fly like a hawk. Our song, “Live and Let Live” is the theme of this program. We’ll imagine what it’s like to be Rudy Soto’s hawk and talk about keeping wild animals as pets. And, we’ll share stories about animals who spend their lives with us. |back to book list|


Making The WorldMaking The World This program takes us around the globe to show how everything in nature works together to “make the world” every day. After a dramatic reading of the book, “Making the World”, we’ll dance to the music Douglas Wood wrote especially for this story. Stranger In The WoodsStranger In The Woods The birds were the first to notice the “Stranger in the Woods”! Our program evolves around this unique book and it's delightful winter woods mystery. Children begin by singing songs of sharing, then invent their own song based on the animals in the book.
