Earthtales Program Books
A Snake In The House "Wild Things Need Wild Places" is the message of this program and also the title of one of two Jim Stoltz's songs we'll sing together. Children will understand that animals need to live undisturbed in their own habitat. They will be encouraged to share their own stories of wild animals they've encountered. We will also create, using natural materials, a make believe home for a snake. |back to book list|
Sky Tree While each picture in this book presents the same scene--a tree by a river--each is profoundly different. As young readers' eyes are drawn to Thomas Locker’s artwork first, they may wonder, "How many ways are there to paint a tree? Perhaps the sky is the limit? The weather? The time of day? The season?” These are a few of the questions that we’ll explore in this graceful program. We’ll sing a lighthearted song by Tom Chapin. We’ll choose our favorite tree and our favorite season, and use colorful scarves to create a forest. Finally, we’ll explore art pastels to create our own “Sky Tree”. This wonderful book speaks with an elegant simplicity that draws us into the miracles of nature herself. |back to book list|
Rainbow Wings We’ll take to the sky for this winged fantasy! With Seraphina feline as our host, we’ll try on the wings of ten different creatures before settling on a favorite pair. We’ll sing a song about flying and design and make our own set of wings. |back to book list|

The Brand New Creature A child sets out from her yard in search of a crocodile. Unfortunately, never having seen a wild animal, she can't tell one from another--and so the stage is set for a simply told tale...
We’ll let our imaginations run “wild” in this light and cheery program. There will be lots of laughter and “crocodile stomping” as we discover brand new creatures of our own. We’ll finish the program with a clay art experience. |back to book list|
Earth Dance Imagine you are the Earth! "You are twirling so gracefully, carefully, not even the sand moves as you spin" We’ll celebrate our deep connection with the magical Earth through gentle music, flowing movement and stenciled art. Learning to sign the words from Sarah Pirtle’s lush song, “Magical Earth” makes this program unforgettable. |back to book list|

Listen To The Rain A quiet song about water sets the stage for this unique program about the rhythm and language of rain. We’ll create our own symphony of rain using different instruments. Finally, we’ll use watercolors and eye-droppers to create a rainscape. |back to book list|
